PixelGreen is Available Now!

PixelGreen is a free WordPress theme ported from the PixelGreen Template by StyleShout.
It`s a stylish, 2 Columns, easy to use and with Widget Ready theme!

This is my first Widget Ready theme, and I think it`s very cool!
Let`s go in details:

  • Upload the theme folder into the themes folder / Don’t upload the Plugins folder!. [ URL/wp-content/themes/ ]
  • Upload plugins files(from the Plugins folder) to the plugins folder. [ URL/ wp-content/plugins/ ]
  • Activate plugins (optional)
  • Activate theme

pixelgreenSUPPORTED PLUGINS:

  1. Related Posts Plugin.
  2. Brian’s Latest Comments.
  3. Top Commentators.
  4. Subscribe To Comments.
  5. SEO Title Tag.
  6. Widgets!!!

Just upload and active the plugin you want then…..do nothing :) !!

Recommended: Active the custom widget (sidebar widget for PixelGreen) and the Custom “Top Commentators” Plugin!

HOWTOs:
=======

  • To use the Widget Plugin just active “Sidebar Widgets for PixelGreen Theme” from Plugins panel and then go to Presentaion>Sidebar Widgets and start dragging whatever you like to the Sidebar!
    Note: To use Related Posts widget, you need to download and ative the Plugin then drag it to the sidebar!
  • To add a Contact Page to the header menu just create a new page with slug name “contact” then edit header.php file and uncomment the line in the menu section( remove “<!–” and “–>” arround the Contact line!)
  • To add an Archive Page to the header menu just create a new page with slug name “archive” and page template “Archives” then edit header.php file
    and uncomment the line in the menu section( remove “<!–” and “–>” arround the Archive line!)

See It in Action

Important:If you find (somehow!) 4 folders inside the zip file with names:
plugin – plugins – css – images.
and if style.css is more than 10KB
Please delete “Plugins” and “css” folders..and then follow the instructions text file!

    The blog roll is not included in the theme. Can you please let me know the code for the blog roll as I’m using hard coded code to insert links on my blog.

    Hello Muhammad, use this function to call the Blogroll links:

    < ul class="sidemenu">
			<?php get_links(); ?>
			< li class="sidemenubottom">< /li>
		< /ul>

    Note that you need to remove the spaces before ul, li, /ul, /li, ?php….as you can see it`s just like the category code(see sidebar file) but instead of calling “wp_list_cats()” we call “get_links()”.

    Hi,

    I want to add an ‘about’ page to the theme but don’t understand your instructions about creating a new page with a slug name “about”.

    Also,do i need to make a subfolder named “about” and put an index.php file in there?

    Well Mike, if you want to name the page “about/About” then you don’t have to do anything!
    Else, if you want to name it for example “About Me” then on the right sidebar when you are writing a page, find the slug name section and write in it “about”, and everything will go fine.

    Why do you think you need to do that?
    After creating the “about” page from your admin panel, whatever you wrote in the text field will appear in your about page.
    just like writing a post!

    Fantastic! I look forward to the upgrades :) I found resources which allowed me to add them to the loop on my own, but would really rather have the complete package.

    I adore this skin, and truly hope that it keeps up with the times. I’m currently running it on two blogs, and may very well add it to a third. Though, before I do that, I plan on seeing what else you have to offer, as in these times of spamming footer links it’s very hard to find anything of quality, and I feel that this skin IS quality.

    So once again, thank you!
