Enblogopedia Successfully Transfered
I’d changed my host two days ago since I won the 1 year hosting competition that Everton setup last month!
My site was unavailable for about 12 hours, because DNS update. But now it`s back as you can see with noticeable improvement in page loading time.
So I want to say thank you to Everton for this great prize that it came in the right time. AND for upgrading my WP too!
I don’t know if this comes with the prize
but it`s really appreciated!
For all of you who missed the competition, Everton still has a great offer for you!
If you missed out on entering becuase you didn’t realise there was a competition, I’m still running a Special Hosting Offer For Connected Internet Readers!
As long as you require less than 25GB of storage and 100GB of transfer each month, I will host your site for half-price as long as you can prove how much you are paying currently. I don’t think you’ll be able to beat this offer anywhere.
Just look at what you’ll get for your money:
- Access to a fully managed server - if something goes wrong they will fix automatically
- Better resources than many VPSs
- cPanel access
It`s really a great offer that you can’t miss. So hurry up, as the offer is limited!
Obviously, I can’t support more than a handful of users so this offer is on a first come, first served basis. So, if you’re interested then register your interest in the forum!

Sorry about the 12 hour outage due to me sleeping and also due to me forgetting you to tell your host to change some settings that would have allowed your new details to propagate faster.
I hope being on my server helps you grow, but not too much as I have to think about my own sites!
That`s ok Everton. Everything is ok now and this is most important!
Contrariwise Everton, I need you to wish me luck, and a lot of it!
And for that time -as they say…- nothing comes without a price!
I have always had a curiosity about changing hosts!
Ibrahim does it take long to transfer all the files? or what exactly is done when you switch hosts cz lypha.com has a little much down times
All we did was backup his files on his old server, and then we logged into his server from the new one and copied the backup across.
What we forgot to do was:
(i) Put a post on the site warning users any comments might be lost (although you can manually update the necessary databases)
(ii) Changed the DNS settings on his server so that propagation would have only taken a few hours
the 12 hour outage was because there was an error on the backup and I was sleeping so Ibrahim had to wait for me to wakeup to fix it!
Well, what I did is just making a full back-up through the backup option in cPanel and then give the wheel to the new hosts support and they handle everything from there.
The reason of this delay is, I didn’t see Everton`s mail until morning and when it takes me long to reach someone of my old host to update the DNS, it tooks about 12 hrs to get a respond from them.
Also there were be some other porblems. So at general it don’t takes this much!
WOW!
Thanks Everton for the quick response!
Even faster than me(the blog owner)
