I really had a hard time deactivating all my plugins(this problem has been solved with the new feature “Deactivate All Plugins”), but this is a must and I wasn’t going to risk of my blog for saving couple of minutes and you really don’t need to do that…why?
Well let Tan from Blogopreneur tells you why. What you can learn from Tan’s mistake is really simple…and Tan outlines it by two words…Follow The Instructions!
Also you may want to see if your plugin/s is compatible with the new WP release, this would saves you time trying it your self!

One last note, this is a major release and you need to delete most of your previous WordPress installation files!

Today, I saw a lot of people talking about PR changes so I checked the PR for my two blogs this one and the soccer blog, and I couldn’t believe my eyes!
This blog went from PR3 to PR4, I really think it should be more like PR5, anyway what was really weird my other blog`s ranking, check the page rank yourself…….well yes it`s now PR5! Kinda cool right?!
Well, yes but it`s also weird, as I have only 6 posts and the last one was on 5 April!
with almost three back links I think Google is just kidding me, when I was not working to improve my PR I got PR3, and now when I tried to improve it..it raises by 1 :s
I don’t know what`s wrong, I think Google just don’t like my blog(this one specifically:)).

Anyway, I should take the advantage of this update and do some work on my other blog and also try to improve this blog`s PR so it gets PR6 next PR update.
But the REAL question to the SE experts is….how did my new blog get a PR5?!

I`m so happy for a lot of reasons. One I saw my parents, two, my new computer parts arrived with them
I’ve ordered four parts from NewEgg 20 days ago to KSA. And my parents brought them to me here in Lebanon. I bought:

1. AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2.0GHz Socket AM2
2. CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2
3. MSI K9N Diamond Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
4. EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI

I got a cheap CPU and by this way I was able to buy 2GB of RAM!
Also I`m waiting the new CPU generation to get one after 8 months maybe. The performance is fantastic, and there`re a BIG difference between this PC and my old PIII

And things even get better!!
After 4 months of struggling I got indexed finally!

As you can see, a lot of pages are supplementals but it`s better than not being indexed!

Now I have a lot of work to get my articles into the main Google index and some Keywords to work on. And if I got a PR6 it can’t be better!

I only linked to it from this PR3 non-indexed blog and it got a link back from ConnectedInternet blog yesterday. Although it`s indexed now!

I know that it`s something great but…..What is wrong with this blog?!
I tried everything, I even sent two reinclusion requests through Google Webmaster, and still don’t get it!

Should I wait till the next PR update?! even if it`s not related!
Or should I just wait and wait and wait….!
I`m so angry and sad!

And finally, Am I missing something?!

Getting the news is easier from BIG sites like ESPN, Yahoo Sports, FOXsports..etc. But sharing thoughts about players, matches and clubs is really what my blog offers.

Let me write down the changes that happen to my blog, and my new object.
As you can see, the design changed to a heavily modified version of Dropshadow theme which was originally made by Brian Gardner. Changes come as follows:

1. Making the theme fluid as it was acting oddly in both FF and IE6 when its viewed in 800×600.
2. Change the header design and designing a logo depending on this great photoshop tutorial!
3. Designing a custom RSS feed icon -see the sidebar-, and a custom comment style for me(as an admin, of course:))

And some other tweaks here and there.

Now about the changes of my policy and objective on this blog…

1. From now on, my blog will talk only about blogging -and some tech news from time to time-, this will include themes and plugins reviews, blogging tutorials and tips.
2. I removed (made invisible) all the unrelated categories-sports..etc- and another blog will be ready for this propose at SoccerSpeech.com very soon!
3. A new service will be available for users within 2 days. As I`ll offer a re-coding and customizing pre-exists blogs, inverting templates to WP themes, beside my current (and future) free themes.

My site was unavailable for about 12 hours, because DNS update. But now it`s back as you can see with noticeable improvement in page loading time.

Since it sounds like an encyclopedia about ‘blogs’. And the blog is really confusing and hard to read for a human, so how about google?!!

And now, I`m thinking of converting my blog to a wiki, this way it`ll be a real encyclopedia about blogs! And bloggers can edit and add on it.
You may say that, what is the benefit of writing in others` websites?!
Well, no one will say no for extra backlink!
As after each article there`ll be a ‘References’ section for that propose!
And a short history about the author.
And even more features that I won’t talk about right now!

Should Enblogopedia Go Wiki?!

The problem was that I have a slow internet connection, and what made it worst is the power cut!
You may not know that we have a power failure issues/problems here in Lebanon -Power Cut each 4 Hours!-, so I turned off my computer in the middle of the upgrading process!
Hopefully, today was the Computer Shut-Down Day so I hope no one notice the outage

Anyway everything is fine now (I hope!) and all plugins are working smoothly, I did replace UTW with “Simple Tagging” as I was preparing my self for this since I read Everton`s article. And what make this plugin great, is the ability to import your UTW tags with a simple click!

And now after the most important work is done (upgrading to 2.1.1), I still have one thing to do…which is the relaunch of Enblogopedia with a new look and propose! SO be in touch.

Well I was too busy designing my UNIQUE theme..and as you can see this is the result!
Maybe it`s not very professional but I`m so glad that I designed it from scratch. I started my design in photoshop then tried to find ways and tricks to make all of it rounded!

First I found a great tool which is a JavaScript that do the job the Script is called CurvyCorners honestly it`s a great tool but I can’t depend on it since anybody who disable JS will not view my blog correctly as all boxes will appear like rectangles(sharp edges).

So I found another way which is a free template that uses a rounded edges. this is the template that inspired me. The concept is simple…four rounded GIF pictures that placed in the edges and here you go!

My design is inspired by a lot of templates such as Open Source Web Design, Broken Kode, Tubetorial..and some of the content are inspired from the default theme and from PressRow and others.

Still think that I need to work on my color scheme just like my links, main content, sidebar and headers colors..and I`m think of redesigning the sidebar and make it just one color just like my main content although it`s cool as it`s now!

The Comment section is fine and I think it don’t need modification and the Idea of putting the “Related Entries and Bookmarks..etc” in a box under the content is cool, I think, but still not sure about my color selection :s
Anyway, I`m still very happy of what I done!
