WordPress Plugin: Permalinks Migration

Last week I decided to change my permalink structure from:
/yyyy/mm/dd/post-slug/ to /post-slug/
For a lot of reasons…one to mention is…SEO!

Anyway, for this reason I asked for the rewrite rule that I should use for this propuse, in the ConnectedInernet Forum and Ajay offered me a nice Plugin called ” Permalinks Migration“.

It`s really a great plugin, that makes it easy to change your permalink without messing with your .htaccess file.

But since the real reason of writing this article is to review this plugin. And when I saw JohnTP`s post about it. I must say that it has some disadvantages!!!

Should Enblogopedia Go Wiki?!

2 days ago, Everton told me that I need to change my blog title (and some content) when I asked him, how “blogging encyclopedia” sound in the title?!

He told me that I need to remove “football news”, the sport and the personal category!
Since it sounds like an encyclopedia about ‘blogs’. And the blog is really confusing and hard to read for a human, so how about google?!!
which I believe it`s true!

And now, I`m thinking of converting my blog to a wiki, this way it`ll be a real encyclopedia about blogs! And bloggers can edit and add on it.

Successfully Upgraded To WordPress 2.1.1

After more than 4 hours of struggling and trying to upgrade my poor blog from 2.0.7 to WordPress 2.1.1, I successfully upgraded it!

QuickTip:Don’t Let Your Browser Load PDF Files!

I read 2 days ago a nice tip in Blog Herald, on how to stop PDF files to load in your browser. Which sometimes freeze your browser or even crash it!

Amit Agarwal explained with pictures how to disable automatic loading for PDF file in IE, and he lists some Plugins that can do the job for FireFox.

His explanation for IE is correct..and the plugins he offers are also great, but aren’t we use these plugins to avoid browser freeze and slowness?!

Then why should we treat such problem and make another!!
As you know using plugins will effect the spead of FireFox startup as it affects the overall performance for the great browser.
